Man arrested after overnight chase on I-35E

A St. Paul man was arrested early Monday morning after an overnight chase on Interstate 35E and city streets.

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a trooper saw a vehicle speeding on I-35E south near Roselawn Avenue at about 1:22 a.m. The trooper then conducted a traffic stop on the suspect, but after the vehicle pulled over it then fled from the stop.

The trooper activated emergency lights and began pursuing the vehicle until it exited onto Larpenteur Avenue and continued onto city streets.

The State Patrol said another trooper in the area located the suspect vehicle a short time later in a parking lot near Maryland Avenue and Norton Street. The suspect fled on foot but was quickly taken into custody.

The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Buster Donny Bacon, was booked on charges of second-degree DWI, fleeing police and driving after revocation.
