A North End neighborhood staple announced via social media Wednesday that it won’t reopen its restaurant for indoor dining.
Mama’s Pizza, which has been serving customers since 1964, announced it is going to continue with take-out orders for as long as possible.
“Mamas will unfortunately never reopen for dine in,” the social media post states, citing rising food costs and lacking staff as reasons. “We will continue to do take out pizza at the very least for as long as possible. This decision has not been easy.”
Nearly 800 people had commented on the post as of Thursday morning, many sharing their sadness at the announcement and their memories of in-person dining with family and friends.
“The good news is you are still open and we as loyal customers will always support you,” one person commented on the post.
