Legends Bar and Grill in Rochester temporarily closed by county due to public health hazard
Tuesday, Olmsted County Public Health announced that Legends Bar and Grill’s food and beverage license in downtown Rochester has been temporarily suspended, KAAL-TV, a Hubbard-owned station, reported.
"Recent imminent health and safety hazards have been documented and observed that directly place Legends’ employees and patrons at increased risk to COVID-19 exposure."
According to OCPH, repeated violations include lack of physical distancing by staff and customers, lack of mask use by staff and customers and violating the current occupancy requirement.
OCPH requires Legends Bar and Grill to close for a minimum of 72 hours, and a sign will be placed on the front door. Once the 72 hours are over, and Legends will be allowed to reopen.
"Legends’ management has received specific information about practices that need to change in order to comply with Stay Safe MN guidelines."
The restaurant must remain closed until it can demonstrate compliance and enforcement of its COVID-19 Preparedness Plan.
“Given the exponential growth of COVID-19 cases in and around Olmsted County, these violations are particularly alarming. Our Environmental Health staff conducted a thorough investigation and will work with Legends’ management to help them come into compliance and maintain compliance,” said Sagar Chowdury, Olmsted County Environmental Health Manager.
