Lakeville police searching for driver who hit biker, fled

Police are searching for a suspect involved in a hit-and-run last week in Lakeville.

According to Lakeville Police, a motorcycle and vehicle were involved in a significant crash on Cedar Avenue, just south of County Road 70, at about 5:08 a.m. on Oct. 6.

After the crash tossed the driver of the motorcycle onto the southbound lane of Cedar Avenue, police say a third vehicle struck the biker, who was lying on the roadway.

Witnesses told police the third vehicle pulled off to the side of the road for about 30 seconds after hitting the biker but then drove away.

Police are asking for the public’s help to identify the third vehicle and its driver. The vehicle is described as a cream-colored Ford Crown Victoria or Mercury Grand Marquis.
