Keegan’s Irish Pub, Red’s Savoy Pizza in NE Minneapolis closing permanently

Keegan’s Irish Pub and the neighboring Red’s Savoy Pizza on University Avenue in Northeast Minneapolis closed for the last time Tuesday, according to a post on social media.

Pub owner Marty Neumann said the businesses will close because of financial strain brought on by the coronavirus pandemic.

"I want to thank the staff and all of our patrons that have supported us over the last 18 years," Neumann said. "Without your loyalty we would not have made it almost two decades."

Keegan’s and Red’s Savoy join a slew of other restaurants and bars that have closed in recent months as dining restrictions have put a dent in business, such as Herkimer, Moose & Sadie’s and Fig + Farro.
