A key member of the Minnesota Vikings has been named the NFC Defensive Player of the Month.
In November, outside linebacker Jonathan Greenard led the NFC with eight tackles for loss and recorded four sacks, 16 total tackles, one forced fumble and one pass defensed. During that stretch, the Vikings went 4-0.
Throughout the month, Greenard helped the defense allow the fewest rushing yards per game (58.8), fewest yards per rush (3.0) and third-fewest yards per game (265.5) in the NFL.
After coming over from the Houston Texans, Greenard has totaled 41 tackles, 10 sacks, two passes defensed and three forced fumbles this season.
Greenard is the 12th different player to win Defensive Player of the Month in the team’s history.
