Irish Fair of Minnesota canceled due to COVID-19
Another summertime fun event has been canceled because of COVID-19. Organizers with St. Paul's Irish Fair of Minnesota (IFM) have decided to cancel the August event.
The weekend of the event usually brings out thousands to Harriet Island to celebrate Irish culture and heritage. It's one of the largest Irish festivals in the nation.
The organization is already planning for next year’s Irish Fair, now scheduled for August 13-15, 2021.
In the meantime, IFM will continue to deliver its supporters the chance to enjoy and learn more about Irish culture via virtual events and educational offerings.
Such opportunities will be announced through its Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, as well as its Irish Fair newsletter.
“We appreciate the generous support of our sponsors, donors, vendors, volunteers, the City of Saint Paul, the Saint Paul Parks & Recreation team, the entertainers and, of course, our wonderful guests,” says Board Chair Tom Whelan. “Together we have all helped to make the Irish Fair of Minnesota one of the largest and most authentic celebrations of Irish culture and heritage in the country. We look forward to making the 2021 Irish Fair the best yet.”
