Inmate escaped from jail near Duluth Wednesday morning, search underway 

The St. Louis County Sheriff’s Office said they are searching for a man who escaped from the Northeast Regional Corrections Center in Saginaw. 

Hubbard Broadcasting affiliate WDIO reports that Kris Richard Severin was last seen at 9 a.m. Wednesday. He was wearing a blue sweatshirt, jeans and black shoes at the time. 

Severin is described as being six feet tall weighing 200 pounds with short brown hair and tattoos on both arms.

The sheriff’s office said he could be near Floodwood, a city 45 miles west of Duluth. 

He was being held at the jail for a violation of an order for harassment. 

Anyone who encounters Severin is asked to call 911.
