Ice Castles to open Saturday; earliest start since 2012

One of the more popular winter attractions in the Twin Cities is opening early this year.
Ice Castles in New Brighton will open on New Year’s Eve at 5 p.m. thanks to helpful weather.
That will be the earliest opening date for Ice Castles since 2012, its first season in Minnesota.
“This is only the second time we’ve been able to open before New Year’s Day,” Ice Castles CEO Kyle Standifird said in a statement. “Mother Nature has been good to us this season, and we’re excited to welcome guests to Ice Castles over the holiday weekend.”
