Ice Castles attraction to close Saturday

The popular Ice Castles attraction in New Brighton will close Saturday, officials said Friday.

Ice Castles opened for the season on Jan. 17, and officials said tens of thousands of people have visited the attraction since then.

The castles are located at Long Lake Regional Park this year after previously being in Excelsior, Stillwater and Eden Prairie.

The castle is made of hundreds of thousands of hand-placed icicles, which takes about six weeks to make.
