Hy-Vee to let fully vaccinated customers, employees go maskless unless locally mandated

Hy-Vee announced on Tuesday that it will let customers and employees who are fully vaccinated enter all of its stores nationwide without a face covering, unless masks are locally mandated.

According to a release, face coverings are still strongly recommended for customers who are not fully vaccinated and are still required by the company for employees who are not fully vaccinated as well.

The company also said it will maintain its extra safety and sanitization procedures that have been in place since COVID-19 first began, which includes Plexiglas barriers, social distance signage and extra hand sanitizer/cart wipes will still be stationed around stores.

Several weeks ago, Hy-Vee also announced that appointments are no longer required to receive a free COVID-19 vaccine at pharmacy locations. This enables people to walk in and receive a vaccine when it is most convenient for them.
