The countdown to Christmas is officially on, and in Hopkins, it’s not just last-minute shopping.

They are getting ready for a special tradition — lining the streets with with thousands of luminaries.

Beth Benson started the tradition in Hopkins with her husband and sat down with 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS reporter Alex Jokich to explain more.

Anyone in Hopkins between 6th Avenue North and 12th Avenue North after 4 p.m. on Christmas Eve will have a beautiful site to see. The luminaries will burn all night.
