HopCat permanently closes downtown Minneapolis location
HopCat announced Wednesday that it is closing its downtown Minneapolis location.
"It is with a heavy heart that we confirm the rumors. We are permanently closed," the bar and restaurant said in a Facebook post. "We cannot say ‘Thank You’ enough for the support you have given us the past 3 years. Thank you for welcoming us into Minneapolis with open arms and allowing us to bring you great food and beer, in exchange for the memories we will take with us."
HopCat cited challenges amid the COVID-19 pandemic as the reason for the closure.
The business also thanked several local breweries for their support and urged their customers to support those local breweries.
"Before we go, we ask for one more favor. Please take the time to support the local breweries that we had the pleasure of supporting in Minneapolis," the post said.
HopCat, located at 435 Nicollet Mall, had opened the location in the summer of 2017.
