Home destroyed by fire in Litchfield Township

A home in Litchfield Township was destroyed on Saturday.

The Meeker County Sheriff’s Office said it received a report of a fire in the 26000 block of Highway 34 at about 5:20 p.m.

Deputies along with firefighters from the Litchfield and Dassel fire departments responded and found a home partially engulfed in flames.

No injuries were reported but the house was determined to be a total loss.

An investigation is underway but authorities believe the fire started in the ceiling.
