Historic Edina Cinema to reopen this summer

The historic Edina Cinema is now scheduled to reopen this summer, after renovations are finished.

In October, 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS reported that Mann Theatres is taking over the cinema and renovating it.

The company announced its latest plans for the theater on Thursday, saying it “will feature a diverse programming slate blending the best arthouse and independent releases along with Hollywood’s biggest blockbusters.”

Mann Theatres also said the Edina Cinema will showcase a “robust repertory program, featuring classics and more.”

The nearly century-old theater has been closed since the start of the pandemic.
