Herkimer to close permanently on Wednesday

The Herkimer Pub & Brewery announced on Sunday that it will close its doors for good this week after 20 years in Minneapolis's Lyn-Lake area.

The bar's final sendoff will be on Wednesday, according to a post on social media. Herkimer had been closed since April due to COVID-19.

Herkimer was well known as a destination for Packers fans in the Twin Cities.

"Prior to the Coronavirus outbreak, it had become increasingly apparent that the evolving character of the industry was becoming less able to sustain a neighborhood pub like us," a Facebook post stated. "We are, and always will be, eternally grateful to the wonderful people of the Twin Cities and the loyal Packer fans who saw us as much more than a beloved neighborhood bar in Lyn-Lake."
