Hennepin Theatre Trust unveils 2022-23 season
On Thursday, the Hennepin Theatre Trust announced the 10 Broadway Across America touring shows that will make up the 2022-23 theater season.
The shows, in order of when they’ll be in Minneapolis, are: “Wicked,” “Beetlejuice,” “Cats,” “Beautiful – The Carole King Musical,” “Les Misérables,” “Hairspray,” “To Kill a Mockingbird,” “Tina – The Tina Turner Musical,” “Tootsie,” and “Jagged Little Pill.”
Seven-show season subscription packages include all shows except for “Wicked,” “Les Misérables,” and “Beautiful – The Carole King Musical.” “Wicked” is a part of eight-show packages. “Les Misérables” and “Beautiful – The Carole King Musical” can be added to either show subscription.
“Wicked” will have the longest run. The show will play for five weeks at the Orpheum Theatre in August.
The 10 shows in total received a collective 26 Tonys Awards on Broadway.
Season ticket subscriptions start at $300. Current subscribers can now renew online, by phone at 800-859-7469, or in-person at the State Theatre Box Office. Ticket packages for new subscribers go on sale in April.
The Hennepin Theatre Trust requires patrons aged 12 and older to show proof of full vaccination or recent negative test for people who cannot be medically vaccinated or hold a sincere religious belief. All theater-goers regardless of age must wear a mask at all times in the venue, except when eating or drinking in designated areas.
