Hennepin Theatre Trust announces changes to current, upcoming Broadway seasons
Tuesday, Hennepin Theatre Trust announced changes to the programming schedule for shows that are part of the "Bank of America Broadway on Hennepin" season due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The organization said, because the shows require months of preparation and much of the production process can't begin until it's safe to work, the timing of launching new tours and resuming existing tours is being delayed.
The following productions have been rescheduled or canceled:
- Disney's Frozen (originally scheduled for May 6-31, 2020) is in the process of being rescheduled
- Summer: The Donna Summer Musical (originally scheduled for July 14-19, 2020) has been canceled
- Come From Away (originally scheduled for Aug. 11-23, 2020) has not yet been changed but discussions are underway regarding its timing and feasibility
- Hamilton (originally scheduled for Oct. 6-Nov. 22, 2020) has been rescheduled to July 28-Aug. 29, 2021
- To Kill A Mockingbird (originally scheduled for Dec. 15-20, 2020) is in the process of being rescheduled but no new date has been set
- Tootsie (originally scheduled for July 27-Aug. 1, 2021) is being rescheduled to an alternate date in the upcoming season to accommodate the rescheduling of Hamilton
Additional updates will be posted on the Hennepin Theatre Trust website.
