Starting Monday, the sheriff’s office’s Water Patrol Headquarters, located at 4141 Shoreline Drive in Spring Park, will reopen for appointments, although no walk-in appointments will be allowed. The gun permit desk at the Public Safety Services Division in Brooklyn Park will reopen in early January.
Anyone seeking a permit needs to bring their completed application, course certificate, application fee (payable by cash or check, or credit card with an additional 2.5% processing fee) and identification to their appointments, which are estimated to last about 10 minutes.
Online appointments can be booked for April 1, 2021, and beyond. The option to make an appointment by calling 612-348-8008 is still available.
