By 6 p.m. Sunday, Hastings had 6 inches of snow, but recent warmer temperatures kept streets and highways from becoming too slick for drivers and Minnesota Department of Transportation crews were busy laying down salt throughout the snowstorm.

April snow is not uncommon in Minnesota. With an early spring season, some people expressed a little frustration, but most took it all in stride as something Minnesotans are used to doing each spring.

Arnold Schwartz, Hastings, told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS he had spent part of the day with family for the Easter holiday and had pretty much expected some snow to fall.

"I really wasn't too surprised to see the snow start coming down around 10 a.m.," Schwartz said. "I just saw it coming down pretty good and just thought, 'Oh well, here we go again,' and I pretty much love it."
