Victim of Ham Lake crash in critical condition

UPDATE 9/23/22 – Family members of a man who was hospitalized following a crash early Thursday morning in Anoka County say he has been declared brain dead.

The Anoka County Sheriff’s Office and family members identified the man Friday as 27-year-old Joel Disanto.

As of 11:50 a.m. Friday, the Sheriff’s Office said they were told Disanto was in critical condition, however, a family member tells 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS he was declared brain dead earlier in the morning.

Authorities add they are still investigating the cause of the crash, which happened around 1:15 a.m. Thursday on the 100 block of Constance Boulevard Northeast in Ham Lake.

INITIAL REPORT 9/22/22 – Authorities say a man is recovering from serious injuries following an overnight crash Thursday morning in Ham Lake.

According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, first responders were called to the 100 block of Constance Boulevard Northeast for a rollover crash involving one vehicle just after 1:15 a.m.

When deputies arrived, they found a man inside a Chevy Silverado, and began life saving measures.

The man was then taken to an area hospital.

No word on what caused the crash.

The man’s age and name weren’t immediately provided.
