Tuesday, Ryan Companies released a virtual groundbreaking video for the redevelopment of the Ford Motor Company site in St. Paul.
The project in the city’s Highland Park neighborhood was officially announced last year and now has a name: Highland Bridge.
The mixed-use development is expected to include housing, offices, retail and green space that Mayor Melvin Carter called "probably one of the biggest undertakings that the City of St. Paul has ever taken on."
"We love an opportunity like this," developer Mike Ryan of Ryan Companies told 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS. "I think how it’s going to change St. Paul is it allows St. Paul to put it’s very best foot forward for the entire twin cities, the entire state, and create a neighborhood here that doesn’t exist anywhere else in our region."

The site’s land has been for the most part empty since the Ford factory shut down. After the factory was torn down, Ford spent years cleaning it up for redevelopment.
