Grab your popcorn: Union Depot in St. Paul to host family-friendly movie nights

The Union Depot in downtown St. Paul will host a drive-in movie series beginning this week.

The series, featuring five family-friendly films, will be shown monthly from May to September. On Friday, the first film of the series, "Emperor’s New Groove," will be played starting at 8:30 p.m.

The movie will be hosted in Lot D, located off Kellogg Boulevard, and parking spots will be on a first-come, first-serve basis, according to a release. Parking opens at 7 p.m. and tickets are $15 per car. To purchase tickets, click here.

During each drive-in movie night, guests can partake in a quiz based on the featured movie for a chance to win a thematic prize basket. At check-in, participants will be given a QR code that they can scan to start the quiz. Guests are also encouraged to snap a car selfie and tag @uniondepot or use the hashtag #DepotDriveIn for a chance to be featured on Union Depot social media. Concessions will be available on-site for each drive-in movie, featuring hot dogs, chili dogs and candy.

Staff will ensure the environment is safe by following department of health guidelines to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Other movies scheduled to play later this summer include:
