Frey tests negative for COVID-19 after exposure at campaign event

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey tested negative for COVID-19 Monday after he was exposed to someone who tested positive for the virus at a campaign event.

The mayor was in quarantine as a precaution on Monday.

Tuesday morning, Frey’s office reported that because of the negative COVID test, he is no longer in isolation.

Frey’s office said the mayor is fully vaccinated, and while he’s not currently experiencing symptoms, "he is committed to following public health guidance."
