Flags ordered at half-staff for St. Joseph fire captain
Gov. Tim Walz has ordered flags at half-staff in honor of a St. Joseph fire captain who died from a medical illness obtained in the line of duty.
Walz’s proclamation calls for all U.S. and state flags to fly at half-staff on Tuesday in remembrance of Captain Andy Loso.
Loso died on Nov. 23 after nearly 20 years of service in the St. Joseph Volunteer Fire Department.
“Captain Loso was a dedicated firefighter who was respected by his family, friends, and colleagues,” the proclamation issued by Walz states. “With its deepest gratitude, the State of Minnesota recognizes Captain Loso for his dedicated service to, and sacrifice for, his fellow Minnesotans, and our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and community.”
