First Google office in the state coming to Rochester; will work with Mayo Clinic
Google announced Thursday it will be opening its first office in the state in Rochester, according to KAAL-TV, a Hubbard-owned station.
The media giant will locate its new office in the Collider Coworking building in Rochester’s downtown.
The company’s new home in Minnesota will serve its long-term strategic partnership with Mayo Clinic.
"Our coworking location in the CMD building was built for innovation and we can think of no better innovative partnership than Google and Mayo Clinic," Jamie Sundsbank, interim executive director of the Collider Foundation, said. "We look forward to the work that Google and Mayo Clinic are doing together to change the future of healthcare."
Together, Google and Mayo Clinic evaluated site locations that would allow them to work side-by-side to transform patient care.
"The COVID-19 pandemic has illustrated the importance of coming together to come up with innovative ways of tackling health challenges," said Chris Mueller, Rochester site lead and software engineer, Google Cloud. "We are excited to officially join the Rochester community and deepen our collaboration with Mayo Clinic as we work together to transform health through technology."
The office is set to officially open in late 2021.
