Fire destroys shed containing multiple vehicles in Avon Township

A fire on Saturday destroyed a shed and its contents in Avon Township.

The Stearns County Sheriff's Office said deputies responded to the 34000 block of Smiley Drive at about 3:56 p.m. for a reported fire.

The homeowner told authorities he heard a boom and then saw his outdoor wood boiler and a 30-foot by 60-foot shed on fire.

When firefighters arrived, the shed was fully engulfed in flames.

The sheriff's office said the homeowner was able to get all four cattle out of a barn, which sustained some heat damage but didn't catch fire. His house also had some melted siding.

The shed, which contained two vehicles and two four-wheelers, was considered a total loss.

No injuries were reported.

The fire remains under investigation.
