Fifth Element, Rhymesayers record store, closes permanently
Rhymesayers Entertainment, an independent hip-hop record label based in Minneapolis, said their Fifth Element record store is closing permanently on their Instagram page.
The store was opened in 1999 in Uptown. Fifth Element will officially close its doors on April 1.
"Last year, while discussing our next steps for 2020 and the coming decade, we began developing some creative new strategies to better serve the needs for our artists and our community, and we're excited to begin this work," the post read, in part.
The label said fifthelementonline.com will transition to shop.rhymsayers.com, which will continue to be the official source for all things related to Rhymesayers Entertainment.
The closure comes when all nonessential businesses have been ordered to shut down in the state amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
