Authorities search for vehicle in fatal St. Croix County hit-and-run pedestrian crash

Authorities say one man is dead after he was hit by a vehicle Sunday morning.

According to the St. Croix County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the area of Radio Road and State Highway 35 in Troy Township at about 2:10 a.m. Sunday.

When they arrived, they found 27-year-old Joshua Thesing, of Ramsey, in the southbound lane of traffic. Thesing had serious injuries and was taken to Regions Hospital, where authorities said he died Wednesday.

A description of the suspect vehicle has not been provided, however, members of the sheriff’s office have interviewed the drivers who stopped at the scene, and are still looking for what they say were several other vehicles in the area at the time the crash happened.

Authorities say alcohol was detected on Thesing, and also said road and weather conditions may have been factors.

This is the second traffic fatality of 2022 in St. Croix County.
