Fatal Downtown Minneapolis stabbing victim identified
A stabbing victim who died in downtown Minneapolis on Monday has been identified on Wednesday.
The Hennepin County Medical Center said Abdihakim Mohamed Areis, 32, from Eden Prairie, died of sharp force injuries to the chest. Manner of death is considered a homicide.
Minneapolis Police spokesperson John Elder confirmed it happened at the S. 5th Street and Nicollet Avenue Metro Transit bus stop.
Another person involved in the stabbing was said to be in critical condition as of Monday.
Police say there are no arrests in relation to this incident. The investigation remains ongoing.
