Eurasian eagle owl missing from Minnesota Zoo

Minnesota Zoo staff say a Eurasian eagle owl is missing from her habitat.

According to a tweet Tuesday, the owl — Gladys — flew off to a tree and didn’t return during a routine training session earlier this month. The zoo says staff have been trying to track down the owl around the area but have yet to find her.

The zoo says she’s likely to be within the 485-acre forested zoo.

"Gladys does not pose a threat to public safety and we are proactively working with local wildlife agencies and authorities to assist in the search," the zoo said in a follow-up tweet.

If anyone spots a bird that looks like the photo included in this article, they are asked to contact their local police department.
