Edina bans sale of flavored tobacco products, including menthol

Edina became the latest city to prohibit the sale of all flavored tobacco products, including menthol.

Edina City Council voted unanimously Tuesday night to ban the sale of the products.

According to the city, it is the 16th city in Minnesota to ban the sale of all flavored tobacco products and the 11th to ban menthol.

Edina has already raised the legal age for buying tobacco in the city to 21.

The city cited student survey results from last year showing more teens are trying vaping and using flavored options.
