East Grand Forks bar gets liquor license suspended over COVID-19 violations

Minnesota officials have suspended the liquor license of an East Grand Forks bar that publicly defied the governor’s executive orders.

The Department of Public Safety says Boardwalk Bar and Grill violated Gov. Tim Walz’s order that stopped indoor dining at restaurants for four weeks.

A state court shut down the bar on Friday after Attorney General Keith Ellison filed a lawsuit.

Boardwalk Bar and Grill’s liquor license is suspended until Feb. 9.
