Seems like there’s road work everywhere you go these days! If you’re heading out of town for the weekend, here are some construction hotspots:
The ramp from Interstate 494 northbound to I-94 westbound in Maple Grove is down to one lane until the early part of July as part of the larger I-94 Clearwater to Maple Grove project. Plus, there’s a new traffic shift once you get onto I-94 westbound between Monticello and Hasty. Traffic has moved to the eastbound side. Both directions are sharing the eastbound lanes. This configuration will last into October.
In northern Minnesota, Highway 2 is closed until early September. You’ll find a detour between Swan River and Grand Rapids using Highway 65, Highway 200 and Highway 169. Crews have shut down the roadway as part of a repaving project.
Southeast of the metro, drivers will encounter lane restrictions for about another week along Highway 52. Expect delays between Highway 19 and 280th Street in Cannon Falls. According to the Minnesota Department of Transportation, lanes will reopen by Saturday, June 19.
