Driver killed in head-on collision involving semi in Oak Grove

A driver died in a crash that involved a semi-truck in Oak Grove on Tuesday morning.
According to the Anoka County Sheriff’s Office, at about 5:03 a.m., officers, firefighters and EMS personnel responded to a crash on Viking Boulevard Northwest near the Cedar Drive Northwest cross street. It involved a pickup truck and a semi-truck.
A crash investigation reveals that the semi was traveling eastbound while the pickup was traveling westbound on Viking Boulevard Northwest when the pickup crossed the centerline and collided head-on with the semi-truck. The male driver of the pickup was declared dead at the scene, while the semi-truck driver wasn’t hurt in the crash.
The driver of the pickup has been identified as Adam Peter Bonzelet, 34, from Foley.
The incident is under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol, Midwest Medical Examiner’s Office and Anoka County Sheriff’s Office.
