Douglas County Fair canceled

Add the Douglas County Fair to the list of events now canceled by the COVID-19 pandemic.

On the same day the Minnesota State Fair was officially canceled, Douglas County followed suit.

"We did not make this decision lightly. The health and safety of all fairgoers is our top priority," the Douglas County Fair Board of Directors said in a news release.

The board said, with health officials recommending restrictions on mass gatherings and the challenges of enforcing social distancing at the event, they decided canceling this year's event was the right move.

4-H programming will still be supported at the fairgrounds.
