Dog reunited with owner after being found in stolen vehicle in Minneapolis

A dog that was reported missing was found inside a stolen vehicle by police in Minneapolis.

According to the Minneapolis Police Department, officers ran the license plate of a vehicle that was parked near Monroe Street Northeast and Lowry Avenue Northeast. Officers were able to learn that the vehicle had been stolen from Fridley.

Officers were able to locate the driver, who was later booked in Hennepin County Jail.

Officers found the 15-year-old dog inside the vehicle. The suspect told the officer he had found the dog days before.

Police searched social media for any posts about a missing dog and were able to learn who the dog belonged to.

The dog has since been reunited with its owner.
