Day & Ross to lay off 79 employees in Minneapolis
A transportation company is planning to permanently lay off nearly 80 employees from its warehouse in Minneapolis next month.
According to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notice (WARN) filed with the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development, Day & Ross will lay off 79 workers from its facility on Winpark Drive on May 27.
The company cited an expiring contract with Stellantis as the reason for the layoffs. However, Day & Ross said it is encouraging its employees to seek job opportunities with the new carrier, as the facility won’t be closing.
Affected workers include operations managers, driver managers, warehouse managers, dispatchers, administrators, dock workers, custodians and drivers.
