Crystal Beach in Burnsville closed Wednesday

Crystal Beach in Burnsville will be closed to beachgoers on Wednesday for 24 hours, according to the city.
Crews will be doing their annual treatment to prevent against the tiny invertebrates that cause an allergic reaction to some people called "swimmer's itch."
Treatment is also expected to be done to prevent certain types of algae and submerged plant growth along the beach, making the water in the swimming area clearer and better for swimming.
The beach will reopen late Thursday morning.
