Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office attempting to locate suspect in firearm assault

The Crow Wing County Sheriff's Office is investigating a firearm assault and needs help finding a suspect involved in the case.

According to authorities, Sunday at about 12:24 p.m., police received a report of an assault involving a firearm in the area of the 22000 block of County Road 4, just north of Merrifield. Multiple agencies, including officers from the Nisswa, Crosslake, Brainerd, Breezy Point and Pequot Lakes police departments, along with the State Patrol, assisted in attempting to locate the suspect.

Numerous witnesses stated to police that the suspect was driving a black sedan, wearing a handkerchief over their face and discharged their weapon from the vehicle while chasing the victim.
