Firefighters responded to a house fire in Mendota Heights overnight.

A 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS photographer captured footage of crews responding to a home on Hingham Circle just south of the intersection of Dodd Road and Delaware Avenue in Mendota Heights around 1 a.m. on Tuesday.

According to the Mendota Heights Fire Department, flames were found in the back of the home, and went into the attic.

Fire officials say the homeowners and their dog were able to safely escape due to the smoke detectors.

While the fire has been ruled accidental, fire officials are still investigating how it started.

No other details were immediately provided.
