Crews install 7th Street bus lane in Minneapolis

A new bus lane has been installed in downtown Minneapolis.

The city of Minneapolis and Metro Transit partnered to install the lane on Seventh Street between Chicago and First avenues.

The city says bus lanes are a cost-effective way to improve the speed and reliability of transit services for customers while also reducing greenhouse gas emissions by cutting idle time.

Other bus lanes were implemented on Hennepin and Chicago avenues in 2019.
