Crews extinguish fire at Jordan lumberyard, no injuries reported

Firefighters were able to extinguish a blaze Wednesday morning at a lumberyard in Jordan, just southwest of the metro.

The fire at Siwek Lumber at about 3 a.m.

According to the Jordan Fire Department, upon arrival, firefighters discovered a garage behind the main building was on fire. The building, which housed the company’s trucks and some building materials, was unoccupied at the time.

The New Prague and Belle Plaine fire departments assisted at the scene.

No injuries were reported and the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating.
