It has been a long, 21 months for many during the COVID-19 pandemic and many children are feeling the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic to an even greater degree.

That’s because their childhood, a typical school day, playtime, has all changed.

Tuesday marked the beginning of a three-part series on 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS called "Conversations on Kids and Mental Health."

It’s a project Twin Cities Live Reporter Kelli Hanson wanted to take on after seeing the anxiety levels in her own children rise.

Hanson starts the conversation on the state of mental health, and who can help kids, in the first part of this new series.
