Construction ramps up for Ice Castles in New Brighton

With overnight temperatures dropping, construction is ramping up on the popular Ice Castles attraction in New Brighton.

Officials say ice artists started growing and placing icicles this week to build the attraction.

They can grow up to 10,000 icicles per day, then fuse them together and spray them with water to form the frozen fortress.

While the event won’t open until late this month or early January, tickets went on sale earlier this week.
