Conn. State Police seek truck with Minn. license plate, person of interest in connection to Chaplin homicide
A man in Chaplin was found dead Sunday morning by Connecticut State Troopers responding to reports of an assault with life-threatening injuries.
Later in the day, Connecticut State Police identified 46-year-old Matthew Candler as a person of interest in the investigation.
A news release from Connecticut State Police said troopers got the call at about 6:12 a.m. and found the man’s body near the intersection of South Bear Hill Road and Miller Road. His identity is not being released at this time.
Detectives are searching for a light blue 1989 Ford F-350 that has a red stripe on the tailgate. It bears the Minnesota license plate YBN-8321, according to the news release. Police say the vehicle and its driver should not be approached if located.
