Community vaccination pop-up at MSP Airport to open this weekend

The governor’s office announced on Friday that a temporary community vaccination pop-up event will be held at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport starting this weekend. This is being done through a partnership involving the state and the Metropolitan Airports Commission, according to a release.
Vaccinations will be administered in Terminal 1 seven days a week beginning Saturday.
"Today, we’re making it even easier for Minnesota travelers to get fully vaccinated," Gov. Tim Walz said in a statement. "The Johnson & Johnson vaccine offered at the airport is just a single dose, so you can now protect yourself from COVID-19 in one stop while you catch your flight. We are working hard to offer these safe and effective vaccines to every Minnesotan who wants them, and we are proud to offer options as convenient as this one for travelers."
Over 600,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered through the state’s Community Vaccination Program.
Travelers 18 years of age and older catching a flight or arriving at MSP Airport are eligible to receive the Johnson & Johnson vaccine in Terminal 1. Travelers are encouraged to walk in or make an appointment via the Minnesota COVID-19 Vaccine Connector or by calling 833-431-2053.
The airport event joins Duluth, Rochester, Bloomington (Mall of America), St. Paul (Roy Wilkins Auditorium and State Fairgrounds), St. Cloud, Mankato, Oakdale and Lino Lakes in the state’s vaccination program.
The state continues to encourage Minnesotans to get tested if they are symptomatic, unvaccinated or under 12 years of age.
