Tuesday is May 5, or Cinco de Mayo,a traditional annual celebration for Mexico in commemoration of the Mexican Army's victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla in 1862.

This year, the celebration is a bit different due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Generally, streets on the west side of St. Paul are packed, but not this year due to 'stay at home' restrictions. However, some residents did attend a big virtual event this past weekend, re-watching last year's parade from their homes.

Along with the virtual viewing party, many local restaurants, including El Jefe in Minneapolis, are offering special take-home taco kits for celebration.

Even national taco giant Taco Bell joined in on the take-home taco kits offering their own version that can feed six people for $25.
