Chicago man pleads guilty to St. Paul July homicide

A man who was arrested by FBI agents in Chicago for a fatal July shooting in St. Paul pleaded guilty to second-degree murder.
Court documents filed in Ramsey County show Jalan Wells, 21-years-old, from Chicago, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder on June 3.

The shooting happened on July 26 at about 1:30 p.m. along St. Clair Avenue, just blocks away from Macalester College.
The man killed was identified by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner as 28-year-old Devonte Steven Ingram of Brooklyn Park.
The sentencing date for Wells has been set for Oct. 24 at 1:30 p.m.
