Charleston church shooting victim's daughter visits Floyd memorial on 5-year anniversary of shooting

The daughter of one of the victims of the Emanuel AME Church shooting in Charleston, South Carolina, visited the George Floyd memorial Wednesday on what is the five-year anniversary of the shooting.

Rose Simmons, the daughter of Reverend Daniel Simmons who was killed by professed white supremacist Dylann Roof in a racist attack that killed nine black churchgoers, visited the Floyd memorial.

5 years after church massacre, S Carolina protects monuments

Simmons laid nine roses, in memory of the Emanuel nine, at the memorial. She said the wanted to join in the grief of the Floyd family.

Roof is currently on death row in Indiana. The federal government says it is resuming executions next month.
